Dave Kay and the Mal Vivants announce the release party for their debut album, “About Time,” Thursday, June 5 at FitzGerald’s Sidebar, 6615 Roosevelt Road, Berwyn IL. The Mal Vivants feature a cast of Chicago musicians including Dave Kay, Jon Paul and Curt Morrison (Tributosaurus), Dave Bernat, Kim Frost, and Gk Kay. “About Time” was recorded and mixed by Jon Smith and produced by Smith and Dave Kay. Featuring a contemporary amalgam of musical influences ranging from rock to folk, from Louisiana R&B and classic soul—the Mal Vivants’ music might be best described as Americana made from a fresh recipe.
