Funkadesi delivers a virtuoso, high energy experience like none other.
This Chicago-based ensemble blends Indian bhangra, Bollywood & folk
with reggae, funk, and Afro-Caribbean grooves, the band emphatically
personifies their motto: “One family, many children. . . Insisting we all
belong.” With unprecedentedly diverse members – Indian-American,
African-American, Jamaican, Latino, and European-American – this 12-
time award-winning ensemble just celebrated 26 years of togetherness in
December 2022.
All band members are gifted healers, educators, and community
advocates passionate about combining entertainment with education,
experiential learning, and becoming better global citizens.
