LOS MAS COOL SHADES
 

Los Mas performs songs inspired by the Mexican Grupos of the 1960’s and 1970’s. The songs are fun and include cumbias, boleros, huapangos, son and more!  The Mexican Grupos utilized electric instruments such as a Farfisa organ, electric guitars, drums and percussion.  Artists such as Los Bukis, Los Humildes, Rigo Tovar and Los Socios de Ritmo dominated the radio air waves.  Keyboardist Eddie Torrez played this music starting at the age of 14 and always wanted to play this music again.  He later headed to Austin Texas to play in several Americana bands before heading back to Chicago playing rock, blues and jazz standards on piano and accordion.

The night will be fun with music that celebrates Mexican Grupos music. Other musicians include Ismael Mota on percussion, Kris Nowak on guitar and special guest, Mark “Bones” Edler on trombone.
