Doc Wattson & Friends
Doc Wattson & Friends is a live hip-hop/funk/jazz experience featuring veteran Chicago emcee Doc
Wattson and - well - a few of his friends.
About Doc Wattson & Friends:
Doc Wattson (vocals, saxophone):
Doc Wattson has performed in and around the midwest since 2003, beginning with the St. Louis-based
live-instrumentation rap group Sac Lunch where he played sax in addition to rapping. He created a small
record label in 2017 (Native Stranger Productions) and began producing/engineering in addition to
rapping. In 2020 he released four full-length projects, three solo and one for his label-mate on the
Daywalkerz project. Lately Wattson has been contributing to the Greenlights Music collective and
continually creating/collaborating with producers and artists around the country..
Tim Deuchler (Bass):
Tim Deucher is a powerhouse bassist/producer from the South Side of Chicago, with an interdisciplinary
focus to music and a talent for both bass and production. Deuchler currently holds down the jazz fusion
group Gitchagumi and hip-hop collective Greenlights Music.
Nate Greer (Drums):
A native of Madison, WI, drummer Nathan Greer relocated to Chicago in 1997 in search of new
opportunities and further musical development. From his days as a staff member at the now defunct Jazz
Record Mart to today where he is a member of the Greenlights Music collective, Nathan has been a
fixture in Chicago music circles.
Thomas Ott (Guitar):
Thomas Ott is a Chicagoland jazz-rock guitarist known for his work with jazz fusion group Gitchagumi
and his former rock band Butterfly in Traffic.
