Tim Rack and Moral Hazard, Rented Mules (SideBar)
SideBar opens at 5 pm; show at 8 pm.
MORAL HAZARD: Moral hazard, led by frontman Tim Rack, runs the gamut from originals to covers by everyone from Elvis Costello to Cake.
RENTED MULES: The Rented Mules are a Chicago area band which plays “stubborn American music.” With their collective hooves dug firmly in the rich soil of musical tradition, the band includes classics in its sets from the likes of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, as well as more contemporary artists such as Steve Earle and Uncle Tupelo. The Mules also continue to integrate a growing number of original songs into their repertoire. The band consists of Adam Gearing on guitar, vocals, and lap steel guitar; Chris Gemkow also on guitar, vocals, and harmonica; Tim Albert on drums; and Parnell Flynn on the bass guitar. The most recent and very welcomed additions to the Rented Mules family are Jessica Hurster on fiddle, and Highway Jim Hurster on mandolin, guitar, and vocals.
