SARAH BORGES with ERIC AMBEL:  Whether it be through performances or her writing, Massachusetts native Sarah Borges has learned to dazzle – and do it well. That ability can be heard all over her 2014 Radio Sweetheart album, as well as her follow-up, Good and Dirty EP. She attributes that ability to a very eclectic sound, which she comes by naturally, she says, “I would say that my sound is straight up rock and roll, but it’s the sum total of what my record collection looks like. The new record is certainly more Americana than the last record was. It’s also more rock than the last record. I would say that it’s a version of the live shows – a lot of loud guitars and loud singing. You can certainly dance to it.”  http://sarahborges.com

Veteran singer/guitarist/songwriter/producer Eric Ambel has spent the past three and a half decades building a powerful body of raw, personally charged music that’s earned him a far-reaching reputation as a rock ‘n’ roll original, while keeping him busy in his parallel careers as producer, sideman and collaborator. A deeply committed rocker as well as a thoughtful, crafty songwriter, Ambel has made enduring music as a solo artist and as a member of the Del-Lords, the Yayhoos and countless incarnations of his own legendary combo Roscoe’s Gang.  His fiery, inventive guitar work has graced landmark albums by everyone from Steve Earle to Joan Jett to Run-DMC.  And his production skills have enlivened recordings by a wide range of artists from across the musical spectrum. His latest album is “Lakeside.” http://ericambel.com

CHANDLER TRAVIS PHILHARMONIC: The Chandler Travis Philharmonic is a 9-piece ensemble from Boston that includes a horn section, string bass, keyboard, mandocello, guitar, drums, accordion, and singing valet. It’s possible they might be the missing link between the Kinks and Sun Ra…

There’s some chance you may be aware of Chandler’s other band, the Incredible Casuals, or of his earlier work with Travis Shook and the Club Wow; either solo or in one or another of these guises, he has appeared with Elvis Costello, Green Day, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, John Cale, Bonnie Raitt, NRBQ (longtime buds Terry Adams and Al Anderson from the ‘Q played on the first Philharmonic album), Charles Mingus, the Beach Boys, Allen Ginsburg, the Replacements, George Carlin (a guest star on two CTP albums, and a traveling companion for decades), Of Montreal, etc., etc. http://www.chandlertravis.com/topics/news/
