Martin Van Ruin (Album Release), The Shams Band
Doors open at 7 pm.
MARTIN VAN RUIN: “Seriously epic folk-pop chops” - Chicago Reader (Gossip Wolf)
“15 Chicago Artists to Watch in 2014” - Chicago Red Eye (Andy Downing)
“Undeniable chemistry reminiscent of Wilco and Uncle Tupelo” - Static Magazine (Kelly McGuire)
THE SHAMS BAND: Drawing heavily from their Kinks, Rolling Stones, and Wilco influences, songwriters Donnie Biggins and Paul Gulyas create whiskey-driven blues, complete with four-part harmonies. It's whiskey-driven storytelling. It's a party. It's rock 'n roll with a banjo. The Shams Band has opened for Drive-By Truckers, Dawes, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes and Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and played to sold out crowds in their hometown of Chicago.
