Country Night in Berwyn with Diamondback, Dave Kay & the Mal Vivants
Doors open at 7 pm.
DIAMONDBACK: The band’s extensive song list is truly a history of country and, for that matter, American pop music. They specialize in Classic Country but are just as convincing playing oldies, country rock, southern rock, modern country and Americana. Michael McKeehan (Bass) and Reva Goodman (Rhythm Guitar) have fronted the band for the last 16 years and handle the lion's share of lead vocals. The band is rounded out by Lee Borek on Lead Guitar and vocals and Jamie Gallagher on Drums and vocals. The addition of multi-instrumentalist Pat Keiner (steel guitar, mandolin and 2nd lead guitar) adds a new texture to the sound. The vast repertoire promises something for everyone. Playing long hours and late nights at Chicago’s only real Honky-Tonk creates an organic tightness that is hard to describe. 100 years plus of collective playing experience makes this an act you shouldn’t miss. Diamondback is best known for their long residency at Carol’s Pub, the Northside nightclub voted by Chicago Magazine readers as “the best after-hours bar.”
DAVE KAY AND THE MAL VIVANTS: Dave Kay and the Mal Vivants play original songs reflecting their often desperate take on Americana. The Mal Vivants are Jon Williams on guitar, Josh Piet on bass, Dave Bernat on drums and Kim Frost on powerhouse vocals.
